Kansas City has a long history starting with the exploration of Lewis & Clark. While Lewis and Clark were more worried about camp sites than websites, they apparently knew what would make a good city site.  They noted while exploring the territory, that the area that would come to be called Kansas City was a good place to build a settlement. It straddled the border between Missouri and Kansas at the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri rivers making it ideal for getting to by river. Obviously, they were not the only people of that opinion as Kansas City, Missouri was founded in 1838 as the "Town of Kansas" and officially incorporated on March 28, 1853.

Sometimes called KC or KCMO, Kansas City, Missouri, has grown to be the largest city in the state of Missouri. It is the anchor city of the Kansas City Metropolitan area, the second largest metro area in Missouri. Encompassing 318 square miles, Kansas City includes parts of Jackson, Clay, Cass & Platte counties. With a total population in 2009 estimated at 475,830, Kansas City has a metro area of over two million.

Kansas City has many nicknames.  Officially it is nicknamed the City of Fountains because it contains 200 fountains.  Kansas City claims to have the second most number of fountains in the world, trailing Rome.  The city also has more boulevards than any city except Paris.  For this reason, Kansas City earned the nickname Paris of the Plains. Kansas City is sometimes referred to as the Heart of America because it is near the population center of the United States as well as the geographic center of the 48 contiguous states. We’re striving for a new nickname City of Awesome Web Design.  We’ll let you know how that goes.

Besides fountains and boulevards, Kansas City is well known for its contributions to jazz and blues musical styles as well as being famous for its Kansas City-style barbecue.  It’s our favorite place and we hope we can make it even better for you with outstanding web design and full-service marketing for your company.
