Google Reports Now Enable You to Track Social Media Interaction on Your Website
By now you've probably heard about Google's +1 Button that allows you to "plus one" (equivalent to "liking" on Facebook) the search results and ads that you find helpful or interesting on a website.
Google has followed up its +1 Button with more social media software. Now, they've given us a way to track social media efforts on our websites. This is great news for social media users. Until now, there was no real way to track social media interaction with your website. But with Google's new Social Reports, you can get critical information that will allow you to see how your social media affects your sales.
There are three new reports available:
- A Social Engagement Report which shows who shares your site with others.
- A Social Actions Report which shows social actions taken on the site (clicks, tweets, etc.).
- A Social Pages Report which shows which pages drive the most social actions.
So basically, you can find out what content your visitors like best and what motivates them to share with others. Once you know that, you can improve your content to make it more interesting, helpful, and socially exciting.
At MarketingXchange, we stay on top of all the latest search engine changes, updates, algorithm shifts and more and make sure you get the most out of your online efforts. Is your website share-worthy? If not, it soon can be and the more people who share your site with others, the more potential customers see you. And that's the whole idea behind social media for businesses! Get them to your website and turn them into customers.
